My name is Megan Buckland - I am the founder of The Dream Create Grow Foundation, a non-profit charity dedicated to providing financial support and resources for pediatric therapy services and equipment.

 

I’d like to give you a little background on myself and why the Dream Create Grow Foundation exists. I am an Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience working in pediatrics. In 2021, I opened a pediatric outpatient clinic, Lively Therapy Services, which provides Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy to children ages birth to 21.

 

As our clinical business matured, I began to realize just how large the need was for children to receive these therapeutic services and the needs have continued to rise in every community across the United States. At times, these needs can place a huge financial burden on families as there are some insurances that limit coverage for these services, resulting in more out of pocket expenses for their children’s therapeutic needs. Beyond the weekly services, there are further costs that a family might face, including adaptive equipment, orthotics, and transportation to therapy. It is my passion to help fill this financial void in the community but I knew I could not do this alone, so in September 2024 I decided to open up a nonprofit organization 501c called The Dream Create Grow Foundation.

The mission of the DCG Foundation is to offer financial scholarships for occupational, speech, and physical therapy, paid directly to businesses providing the services, for deserving families in communities around the country. Additionally, we offer financial assistance for eligible applicants who require adaptive equipment and transportation to therapy, and will help support community outreach programs that support their local pediatric therapy communities. Our goal with this foundation is to not only collaborate with local therapy clinics, but also Pediatricians offices, schools and other community programs to provide the funding for eligible families to succeed.
